Employee (user activity) monitoring
nVision agents can monitor in detail the activities of users working on Windows machines:
- Actual activity time:
accurate work time with time of work start, work end and breaks.
- Process monitoring:
total operation time, user work time (each process is described by a total operation time and the time of usage by the user).
- Actual software usage:
accurate information about the used software (e.g. percentage of application usage, depicting the time of its usage against the total application running time), and even about the documents edited by the employee.
- Employee activity type: reports presenting the work time (predefined RCP reports), Web browsing, GG or ICQ conversations, gaming, online purchases, etc.
- Work history: cyclical screenshots (function enabled on demand).
- Remote view of user desktop
- Number of visited pages:
number of visits on pages, with headers, number and time of visits.
- User network transfer monitoring: local network traffic and Internet traffic generated by employees.
- Printing audits: information about the printout date, used printer, user and workstation, printed document (document name, number of printed pages, etc.).
- Email monitoring: from,
to, subject, size.

Website blocking
Axence Users enables the entire Web traffic to be permitted or blocked for a given user, with the function of an exception which allows or blocks the use of a specific site. The granularity of Website blocking does not limit the potential and advantages of using the Internet during work (so-called flexible surfing).

Other features
Users also includes other functions available as a standard in all nVision modules, such as network detection and visualization, reports and alarms, and browser-based access.
|
| |
 |
 |
- Network discovery
nVision deploys quickly – within a few minutes the program will automatically discover every host in your entire network (including neighbor networks behind the router), then it will scan for services running on them and network interfaces.
- Network visualization (mapping)
Hosts are presented on interactive maps that display all critical information (leading service response time, services and host down time, alerts etc.), so you can quickly spot problems and focus on them instead of searching for what's wrong.
- Monitoring network infrastructure (basic)
TCP/IP services: HTTP, POP3, SMTP, FTP and 50 others. You can monitor their response time and the percentage of requests lost.
|
| |
 |
 |
- Reporting
nVision provides a wide range of charts and reports. It also allows you to create new reports.
Such charts (real-time and historical) can be presented over the desired time range selected right in the program – there is no need to prepare a report. The charts can easily be scrolled, providing fast access to the historical data at anytime.
|
| |
 |
 |
- Alerting
You can define a wide range of events when an alert should be raised. Events may be defined based on any monitored parameter and service.
- Notifications and corrective actions
Each event may trigger one or more of the notification and corrective actions, such as desktop notification, e-mail, SMS or ICQ message, running external programs, and writing to file. All alerts are stored in the event log for future analysis.
|
| |
 |
 |
- Web access
This feature provides a simultaneous access to the program - a number of administrators can access the program via a WWW browser - at the same time and from any place. Web access provides most of the Windows application functionality and includes remote access to workstations.
- Remote agents
User monitoring is performed by means of the remote agents’ mechanism (no possibility to close or kill the agent; if required, the agent can be hidden).
The data collected is saved only in the database – without the memory usage. Agents can be automatically installed and uninstalled.

Why
Axence
Users?
There are other similar user monitoring products, but nVision offers several unique advantages not to be found elsewhere.
- Wide scope and details of monitored data in a transparent and intuitive interface.
Axence Users provides a big number of detailed information on user activity, but as the information is served in an appropriate order (e.g. divided into categories) and in a logical and user-friendly manner (e.g. charts and tables), you can quickly find the required data.
- Axence Users does not interfere into user privacy in the scope of violating the legal and ethical standards, but at the same time remains an effective and efficient employee monitoring tool. The program does not monitor and archive, among others, the contents of e-mails or instant messaging conversations. It does not capture the keys pressed on the keyboard, as that would pose a threat to company security and confidentiality (passwords, access, etc.).
- Website blocking granularity. This function blocks access to unwanted sites, but does not limit the potential and advantages of using the Internet during work (so-called flexible surfing).

Users roadmap
During development of nVision we put a special emphasis on the constant expansion of the Users module functionality – in response to the reported demand for more accurate and intelligent user monitoring systems.
Features in the next versions:
- Option to provide the list of days
of sick leaves, paid and unpaid holidays (with division into hours). This will be a separate database providing full
WTR (work time registration) information.
- Division of viewed pages into categories: work/non-work.
- Monitoring suspicious applications and connections:
detecting Trojans, spyware or viruses and alarming about the detection.
- Blocking Websites meeting the specified content criteria: the current software version blocks sites by domains.
- Option to send messages to users
- Instant messenger allowing for the administrator’s communication with the users.
